Using DD Waiver funds

Currently, Idaho Health and Welfare is not approving RecUnlimited lessons for individuals under 18 using Family Directed plans.

Recreation Unlimited is getting set up to accept payment as a vendor via Consumer Direct for lessons this winter.  If you  receive DD Waiver funds through Idaho Health & Welfare’s Self-Directed Services (adult), you may be able to pay for therapeutic recreation lessons through your spending plan.  Let your support broker know and they will help you identify whether Recreation Unlimited lessons can be included in your budget plan.  Like all goods and services, you will need to have your physician fill out a Recommendation Form explaining why participation in Recreation Unlimited benefits you or your child.
For budget planning purposes, lessons for the upcoming season will cost as follows:
6  lessons including all fees – $190

Once lessons are included in your approved plan, you will be be able to have Recreation Unlimited paid directly through Consumer Direct via the usual vendor payment process.  During the registration process, you will be able to download an invoice with the cost of the ski or snowboard sessions to submit for payment along with your Request for Vendor Payment form to Consumer Direct.  Your support broker will be able to walk you through the steps, if you have questions.
